Disney Pixar's Incredibles 2, Finding Dory, The Good Dinosaur, Cars 3 and Toy Story 4 Updates

This time it's Pixar's turn to take the spotlight, as we delve into the sequel-mania that was their D23 presentation...

Despite Disney Animation's amazing presentation at last weekend's D23 Expo (read more about that here), it was Disney Pixar's panel that really captured the audience's (and social media's) attention! Reveals including the long-awaited sequel to The Incredibles, footage from Finding Dory and exciting details about Toy Story 4 initiated applause and cheers from the thousands of attendees, and today I'm going to relay some of the most interesting information to you!

First up let's discuss Toy Story 4. Despite Pixar claiming '3' was their last instalment in this mega franchise, Disney Pixar have decided to explore a different type of adventure with their fourth outing with the toys: romance. Yes, you read correctly. Toy Story 4 will follow Woody and Bo Peep (who starred in 1 and 2) in a sort of romantic comedy, and fan favourites Hamm, Jessie, Bullseye, Buzz and of course Woody are all set to return.

Next up is the Incredibles 2. We didn't get any solid news on this one apart from a rumour that the film may focus on the Parr family where the parents have retired and Jack-Jack has turned evil, forcing Violet and Dash to bring him back to sanity. Though this is nothing concrete, we do have an exciting glimpse at the film's logo in the poster reel below.

Finding Dory had a rather large display, and some information has been revealed. In the film, Dory will have a dream that causes her to remember her family, who she immediately wishes to set out and find. However, when she vanishes, Nemo and Marlin must once again cross the ocean to find their lost pal. The film apparently looked visually stunning, and it was informed that due to the growth of Alexander Gold (who played Nemo in the original) a new voice actor will take over his role. Of course, Ellen DeGeneres and Albert Brooks will return to the project.

The Good Dinosaur (which faces an imminent release) was also discussed at the conference. The film centres around a dinosaur named Arlo who meets an 'unlikely human friend' in a world where the meteor never did kill off dino-kind. The scenery of the movie looks almost real, with the leaves and raindrops crystal clear and the cloudy sky looking positively genuine. Contrasting this are the cartoony yet detailed dinosaurs that roam the delicate landscape. The film looks emotional and unique and should be a delight when it is released in November of this year.

Two other films highlighted at the conference panel were Coco and Cars 3. Coco seems to be incredibly interesting, and will be based on the Mexican cultural celebration known as the Day of the Dead. Channing Tatum recently headlined the film The Book of Life which dealt with the same celebration and was visually spectacular, and so hopefully Pixar can replicate some of the magic with Coco. Cars 3 was also announced at the conference, though not one smidgen of information was revealed about the film. Despite being Pixar's least impressive franchise, it earns the studio the most money in merchandise out of them all. It is unknown whether the film will focus on the more grounded and charming narratives of the original or the action spectacles of its sequel.

What Pixar film are you most excited about? Personally I can't wait to see what the Incredibles 2 has to offer, but the imminent release of The Good Dinosaur naturally focuses my attention on the jurassic movie.
