Ten Things We Learnt From the Harley Quinn Suicide Squad Trailer

"Hello boys!"

Yesterday, DC Comics and Warner Bros. released a sixty second trailer/spot highlighting the character of Harley Quinn, who is set to make her highly anticipated on-screen debut in August's Suicide Squad. Portrayed by Margot Robbie, this interpretation of the Joker's protégé-turned-supervillain is set to be very different from the character's original incarnation. Introduced in Batman: The Animated Series, Harley Quinn started life as Dr. Harleen Quinzel. A psychiatrist, Dr Quinzel was assigned to the mysterious Joker (a Batman villain currently held in Arkham Asylum). In the iconic 'Mad Love' story-line engineered by Bruce Tim and Paul Deeny, the Joker's manipulation turned the easily persuadable woman into a weapon of his own design, and hence the Joker-obsessed Harley Quinn was born. In the upcoming Suicide Squad though, it is becoming clear that this young Harley is more of an independent, cunning character than we first believed rather than the ditsy murderer we have grown accustomed to. Join me as I delve into the secrets held within the new trailer and decipher what they mean for Harley, the Joker and more...

The Top Ten Marvel Heroes We Need To See On Screen!

Wait...there's a "Squirrel Girl"?

Since the year 2000, Marvel Comics has seen a broad and extensive range of it's characters reach the big and small screens with varying degrees of success. The turn of the Millennium brought us Bryan Singer's X-Men; hugely successful, Xavier and his Mutants brought about a shift in cinema trends, introducing the world to the age of the comic book movie. Since then, Marvel Studios has created a ground-breaking cinematic universe (known in the industry as the Marvel Cinematic Universe [MCU]) and 20th Century Fox has infamously struggled multiple times to sell the Fantastic Four to less-than-impressed movie goers. While it may seem that all the characters worthy of an on screen portrayal have already received as such, any comic book reader would strongly wish to inform you of a menagerie of characters they feel deserve a place on the silver screen. This top ten rundown will explore some of my own personal favourite comic-book characters that have yet to make their on-screen debut...

Netflix's Stranger Things Review

Where on Earth did the Duffer Brothers come from?

As I was browsing the internet on my daily exploration of entertainment news and reviews, I came across a surprising collection of fan fervour. I hadn't heard of Netflix's newly released 'Stranger Things', you see, and so to find out that such a massive project had flown straight under my nose was a shock. Even more of a shock however was the acclaim. Every single trusted reviewer I follow had consistently given this series at least 8/10 (or equivalent) in scoring, so what did I do? I sat in my room - engrossed - and binge watched the entire eight hours in a day. I am not proud of this accomplishment, but believe me when I tell you this: the hype is justified.
