Doctor Strange Spoiler-Free Movie Review

Cumberbatch, McAdams, Swinton, Ejiofor and Mikkleson dazzle in the latest Marvel spectacle...

It's no secret that Disney-owned Marvel Studios is the titan of the current blockbuster landscape. With multiple movies released a year each grossing near to (or sometimes over) $1 Billion worldwide, the company seems unstoppable. Despite this, year after year, a film comes along seemingly destined to topple the empire. First was 'Guardians of the Galaxy', whose unknown characters and frat-boy humour went against the Marvel Cinematic Universe's comparatively tame past entries. After that came 'Ant-Man'', whose director troubles and development issues left many sure it would  be the studio's first flop. After the gargantuan success of the previous two however, many turned their heads to Doctor Strange, sure that this would be a film too bizarre, too...strange to win the box office dollar.
We should have guessed, really, but after garnering critical acclaim and an impressive $80+million in it's opening weekend in Europe, it seems Cumberbatch and Swinton are set to firmly validate Doctor Strange's place in Marvel's expansive saga set to culminate in 2019's 'Avengers: Infinity War'.
