Disney's Beauty and the Beast Live-Action New Images | Emma Watson's Belle, Lumière and more...

Disney: Putting the magic back in the movies...

Alas! Disney, along with Entertainment Weekly, have finally revealed what the characters in the 2017, live-action Beauty and the Beast will look like! We have just received our first glimpse at Belle's iconic yellow dress as well as the woman who wears it, the beast who owns it and the sassy candle-stick who so infamously lights up the ballroom it elegantly swirls in! Along with the exciting new images comes a trickling stream of information surrounding the upcoming fantasy film...

Here we have a stunning first look at the now iconic yellow dress donned by Belle.

Up next is an exciting look at Gaston (Luke Evans) and Le Fou (Josh Gadd of 'Frozen' fame). Evans looks dashing as the inherently ugly Gaston.

This here is our first look at the Beast played by Dan Stevens. Though more human-esque than his animated counterpart, this Beast is as frightening as ever. The study in which the shot is set is exquisite and full of odd trinkets and knick-knacks. Perhaps Belle and the Beast bond over their love of science?

This here could be our first glimpse at Belle's new musical number. Seemingly helping to clean the old ballroom, Belle borrows a page from Cinderella's book and is making the most of a bad situation. Emma Watson looks perfect as Belle in her instantly recognizable blue and white garb.

And up next is our first look at Belle and her father Maurice. Disney have switched things round this time. Maurice is no longer a struggling inventor but a creator of music boxes - he started building them to help Belle get through her grief over the death of her mother. Belle is now an inventor, and her patch-work dress seems to mirror the more science-y take on the character.

Here is another shot of Luke Evans as Gaston halfway through singing what must be the much loved song 'Gaston'.

Here we see the director speak to Watson off camera. The books look incredible in this old library, but it is unsure whether this takes place during the opening song "Belle" or in the depths of the Beast's mansion later on in the film.

This offers our first look at the inanimate servants of the Beast's mansion. I will admit I am not yet sold on their design, but perhaps seeing them in the new trailer set to drop next week will put our collective minds at ease...

And finally we have the Entertainment Weekly cover which offers a sumptuous shot of the famous ballroom scene from the Disney animated classic.
